Catching Taurus HELL

The TCP 380 line was total crap and they dropped it because of it. At least they had the gumption to realize there was a problem and drop it from their lineup. That can happen to any manufacturer as a matter of fact Ford motor company and General Motors are the same way. They made mistakes in design that killed probably hundreds of people but that doesn't stop people from going out and buying them anyway. Just because one gun is a bad design doesn't mean that every other gun they produce is bad. But I can understand your reluctance to buy another one. I'm not going to condemn you for that!

I get plastered with criticism for buying a Taurus 1911 and upgrading them into a decent pistol. So what's someone to think about buying a Taurus. I got this little Taurus tx22 to adjust the laser on it and fired into a little box full of magazines just test it out. This little gun runs 237 bucks Palmetto State Armory. This is a five shot group at 20 ft. Seems to me this little Taurus is doing just fine. Of course the only Taurus I've ever owned was the PT 1911s and I've owned four or five of those so I don't know about all the rest of them but this one certainly has no issues.

Let the plastering begin!

You be you and enjoy your 1911.

I’ve got 3 TCP 380. Had the 1st one for 10+ years. Never had a problem. Wife, Granddaughter, and me.
What are the problems?
Yeah I've never owned a TCP but I would at the right price. As of now I own a Kel Tec P32 and P3AT . The TCP does have a slide release where the Kel Tecs don't. I feel like the negative TCP comment was one of those sample size of one kinda deals.
I have also owned two Kel Tec PF9 pistols and one Taurus 709 Slim. And if anyone here wants to trade a 709 Slim for the PF9 I own now then please PM me. Nothing wrong with it but the 709 is just more user friendly.

Taurus was all fine and good when they were knocking off Beretta pistols and Smith revolvers. I've owned at least 3 Taurus 92/99 9mm pistols with no problems. In fact I prefer the frame mounted safety they use over the Beretta slide mounted. I know they had their share of issues when they started building their own designs especially the polymer framed guns but I don't see it as any worse than other companies.

I love the TX22 compact and 1911 that I have. Both shoot great and have never had a hiccup with either one. Obviously not top of the line, but great firearms for the price.

You be you and enjoy your 1911.
I am. It shoots great. It's accurate as they usually are once you get a better trigger in them. These guns will last a lifetime. I think this is my favorite one of all the ones I have bought, sold and traded because I got such a incredibly low price on it.

I put a new WC spring kit in it, cut a relief angle on the the sear and took all the slop out of the trigger. Added a set of VZ grips and a mag well and it's good to go. I just need to get a few more mags and that's it. I had the grip panels so I spent 18 bucks for the spring kit, 69 for the mag well and 325 for the gun. If I find another one at that price I will snap that one up also. It's a all forged metal handgun I will take over a polymer gun all the time every time. You just can't appreciate it until you shot it. It's smooth as butter just harder on the arteries! LOL
