Any of you cb guys running any power in your mobile? What's a good place to get a box from? Also need to know if any of yall know how to fix a connector back on a wilson 1000 mobile antenna. Also does anybody here work or have a cb person that does there equipment

You can usually find this ham radio amp on ebay for around $100. It'll give you 100 watts. Be aware though that even though this will work with CB radios, it is illegal to do so.

Yes there are radio techs around here but they will never touch my gear, so I ship it to the good ones.

I'm not familiar with Uniden radios but the answer is yes. Your modulation will jump way up and a 5 watt radio will sound like 50-100 watts.
Everything I've had tuned properly is crystal clear modulation and people think i'm running a huge linear amp, but it's just tuned right vs some tech turning everything wide open

Excellent. Well, the uniden isn't anything fancy but highly recommended for jeeps. Small and durable. i appreciate the help. I'll give the gentleman in AL. a call.

You will be very happy with Joshua aka Gump in Alabama.
Give him a shout, tell him what you have and what you want it to do.
he will give you sever options and make sure you are running the proper coax and antenna.

You definitely need coax and antenna tuned properly. 1.3 SWR or lower is ideal. I tinker until it's flat 1.0 SWR if I can

I've got a firestick II 4' with their coax (rg58) but ordered a 102" whip as well. Hopefully that coax will work. I know there is better out there. Rumor is the 102" should be gtg out of the box with. 6" spring and 18' coax.
