CC in Centennial Park?

I was planning on taking Marta to Centennial park for food and fireworks today. I am having a hard time finding if CC is allowed. I am finding conflicting info on if it is a state park (ok) or if it's owned by the georgia world Congress center (not ok). I don't like the idea of walking around downtown unarmed.

My concern is that I will be taking MARTA (which is ok) but if I get there and they are screening/wanding then I'll be SOL.

I just got into the park and they did not frisk/wand anyone. They were checking bags. It's GTG!
