CCW Road Trip - GA to NY

Drive to the Philly airport, rent a car with "Yankee" plates to drive into NYC. I wouldn't even carry a Daisy Red Ryder....and I have one....in NYC.

Another option, if it fits your schedule, fly up to LaGuardia, take a cab to and from your destination, do your business/meeting/whatever and get the hell back to Dixie.

Got a road trip coming up next month to NY. Will be there for 2 days. Stopping in Richmond, VA for a night on the way up and back. Is it worth trying to travel with my firearm? Thanks

Hell, NO! Cops will see your tags and be all over YOU. It's not worth it. Did you know that a empty gun magazine is considered a Gun I. NY!

SC, NC, VA, and PA honor GA CCW permit. MD, NJ, DE, and NY do not. You can carry a handgun or long gun through any state due to federal transportation laws. The handgun must be unloaded, inaccessible, and in a locked case unless a state has looser regulations. This is good for passing through any state but once you stop, you are subject to state law and that’s a no go for NY and the others I mentioned. Not sure about the long gun but I bet it’s similar. Did this once going to PA and had to pass through MD, DC, and DE with an unloaded handgun in the trunk, locked in a case. Brought it back out in PA. I would leave it at home or in VA with a friend or relative. If no friend or relative in VA, you could drop it off at a gun store for a cleaning and pick it up on your return. Kind of like a storage fee but you get a cleaned weapon too!
