Century Arms c39 issue

The C39V2 I own is a much better value than some of Century's import kit guns. A converted Vepr is going to be the best AK you can own in my opinion, but I feel like Century has a good product in the C39V2.

So much Century hatred here, I've owned plenty of Century guns and the only one I had an issue with was a SAR-3 and I fixed it by putting the proper recoil spring and hammer in it for a 5.56 AK.

There is plenty of documented issues with Kimbers (including my own personal experience with them) and people will look down there nose at Rock Islands and praise Kimbers. Some issues people have with brands are psychological in nature due to the Internet.
One of the most accurate guns I ever shot was a Rock Island, it was my buddies, if I was in a contest for a $1millon dollars and it was laying on the table with my Colts, Sig's etc, ....I'd probably pick it, No Kidding.

Yes, I also like Springfields. My favorite handgun thus far is a Canik TP9SF, but most folks can't get over "it's a Century imported Turkish piece of crap" mentality to realize that it is a high quality handgun comparable or (to me) better than a Glock.

But, sorry to derail the OP's original issue with his C39. I would shoot some steel through it before I gave up on it. I have zero experience shooting brass in a 7.62x39. The forceful extraction and feed nature of the AK was designed for steel.

Sounds like an ammo defect to me (you were using cheap ****). An unfired round will not simply expand in the chamber. Dry cycle some more of that ammo through it and see what happens or buy some quality brass and try again.

Milled vs stamped is not a guarantee of quality. Kalashnikov designed the AK originally to have a stamped receiver, but Russian manufacturing techniques at the time couldn't do the stamped receivers correctly. So, the Russians converted a plant that was machining Mosin-Nagants to machining AK receivers. Once they had the stamping technology down pat, they went to stamping receivers.

Decades ago, the Soviet military did a longevity test of milled vs stamped receivers in the AK.......the stamped receivers won.

OP: Sounds like your headspace is too tight or maybe a gas problem. Cases change shape after being fired. You will need to strip your bolt to check headspace as the extractor can cause false positives

Feed it the garbage steel case ammo it wants to be fed! Be careful mortaring your rifle with live ammo in the chamber. Not sure if it would make a difference but on my AK's I can get a round out of the chamber with the safety on. Might see if you can do the same on yours before the next live round gets locked up in there.

47 or 74? I gotta call bull**** on that

lol pm me your phone number if you want and ill send u a video. I just double checked. With saftey off I chamber a round then flip the safety on and pull the bolt back and eject the live round from the chamber but it wont chamber another round. 7.62x39 opap. Sorry I dont feel like digging out my m92 pap right now but since its also a similar yugo I bet it will do the same.
