How durable is cerakote? Does it crack or peel?

It's pretty much the most durable coating on the market, applied properly it should never crack or peel off under normal circumstances. One of the best qualities of it is it is pretty much impervious to chemicals and corrosion.

Having said that it is still just a coating and will get holster wear and scratches if you bang it around. There are tougher finishes like hard chrome plating, NIB, and all different types of nitride finishes. The only downside with these finishes is they very expensive to get just a single gun done, colors are limited to pretty much just black and nickel/chrome look.
