Cheap handgun for the truck

So much WTF in here. Truly impressive. Vess, you've outdone yourself. Wowzers
I aim to please. I knew that the last 2 last post I Conjured would get the fellas clambering. It's so easy to get some of you going with nothing but a paragraph of words carefully meshed to enrage the masses. I don't believe in one bit of it myself. 🤣 It took me three tries to stuff in all the crap! I love this forum. All my family have concealed carry permits. My sister and her busband, all four of their children, my father when he was alive and my mother. My two sons are just not interested in guns at all so they don't have theirs. All I wanted was a little help with advise on a candidate posted.

Who knows when I'll carry it I might get a notion to carry it every day. The one thing is is right now all my pistols are handguns rather are too heavy and bulky. I want a full-size pistol but not a real heavy one. A full size 1911 or a 1911 long slide with a full mag is probably a little too heavy for what I'm looking for. So I thought about polymer frame with the steel slide would be a little lighter.

Hence the post about the Smith & Wesson performance center 10 mm. I know it's a full size and a long gun but the weight is probably more manageable. I'm also looking at smaller bull Armory options and some Walter units as well. Buds Gun Shop has some really good deals on the handguns or type of handguns I'm looking for and they also have " make offer " option as we. I'm sure I'll find something there that'll fit my needs. Who knows I just might get that Macho holster. They have really nice leather shop about 15 miles from me and they probably have some real nice holsters. I have three or four pistols in my car at Bud's Gun Shop and I'm going to make an offer on each one and just see if they bite. The one I can keep around $650 bucks is the one I'll buy more than likely. Plus they have a crap ton of rebates going on right now on most of their manufacturers. So now is the season to spend without reason! So Merry Christmas to me. Y'all behave now! 🤣 🤣🤣

So, you're looking for a "cheap truck gun", but are considering ordering something online in the $650 range? First, I don't think anybody would call $650 (PLUS tax, PLUS transfer) "cheap". This site is full of very good, high quality options, that are well under $650+, from polymer framed, to decent 1911's, to 38 revolvers. As I said, LOTS of great options. Right here. Right now.
This whole thread seems more like a plea for attention than a legitimate question. ;)

I decided to step up the price point for one. The other I was told thst if I didn't think of my gun as a tool and beat the s*** then I don't want anything to do with the or handguns sold on this site. I went over three pages of handguns and either they didn't appeal to me or the person's would not consider shipping. I just hopped back on ODT to go over the steals and deals from the FFL's listed in that section and see if they have any new stuff that peaks my interest. I have never owned a polymer gun so just out of curiosity I wanted to see what some people thought of some selections. Which was a mistake on my part because other than getting advice on the gun I listed I get a lot of bogus feedback and ridicule. Now do you really think I want that kind of attention????

Serious question #1. You're in your truck coming home from work with your CCW. Why do you want another gun in the truck?
Question #2: You're in the house and leave to go to work with your CCW. Why do you want another gun in the truck?

Hell there was a Firestar in 40 listed yesterday for $300.00 aside from being ALL STEEL and weighing like a concrete block it would probably make a perfectly suitable vehicle gat

I am retired and I don't go to a lot of places because it takes so freaking long to get there. I might drive into Lynchburg or Bedford which both are about 20 miles away and take longer going through the mountains at slower speeds. So the only time I need to take the gun out is when I leave the house and come back which 4 or 5 times a month.

I used some of the money to buy a new a NIB Springfield Garrison 1911. So I added another handgun to the collection but it didn't solve anything for what I want to use now. The last gun I put up was a Smith & Wesson performance center M&P 2.0 in 10 mm. I believe that has a polymer bottom which would make it lighter, with plenty of Firepower and it's a full size handgun. I don't like those itty bitty scrunched up guns. I've got big hands and the smaller handguns I just can't get a good purchase on.
Hell at this point I don't know what I am looking for. I would like to stay in the same calibers I have currently so I don't have to start building up stock on a new caliber.

I get that, but why not just take your carry gun with you when you leave the house? You'll have it when you get home.

Unless I want the additional capability a rifle would give me, my ccw is sufficient as a truck gun since I always have it when I'm in my truck.
