I want one of those short tubed 8 round revolvers Taurus made in the late 90s. That would be THE carry piece especially for a shopkeeper type gig.Money may be better spent on game cameras or a Ring doorbell.
Otherwise I was going to suggest a Taurus 605 in .357mag.
I hardly go anywhere to justify concealed carry. It is lawful to carry loaded weapons in the truck as long as it's in a closed compartment.Thank you. Came here to post this
I NEVER had a problem with older Taurus models. I'm talking back before they got into polymer stuff. When they were cloning Beretta pistols and Smith revolvers I don't recall them having any issues.I don't mind Taurus. I love their 1911's but when I get one I put 600 dollars worth of Wilson Combat parts in em. I would love to find a 357 revolver on the cheap since I have a good stash of ammo. However, 9 mil ammo is cheap enough to stock up on if need be. I will take all these recommendations and start a search and just see what pops up. I have a buddy that owns a pawn shop and usually cuts me a deal on guns if I buy one. I am sure something will show up. As long as I have my phone I can refer back to all the guns you guys mentioned and pick one out that presents itself. I am not to picky just as long as it does the job.
Can't do it.Let me know when you get tired of that Kel Tec.
Anywhere justified to carry except your own house apparently.I hardly go anywhere to justify concealed carry. It is lawful to carry loaded weapons in the truck as long as it's in a closed compartment.
I would consider lights and all that but my yard is so big it would cost a fortune. Cheaper just to buy a decent gun and lower the boom in a hairy situation.
You had a plan very similar to mine. I had a P11 back around the time I joined here in 2013. I got it since it was a good deal at the time AND I knew it used Smith 59 series mags. So my plan was to score an old Marlin Camp 9 which also used Smith mags. But I had no idea at the time how much those old Camp 9 carbines go for now. Can't do it.
It's part of my old Y2K (remember that non-event?) get home package.
The P11, a Gen1 alloy frame Kel-Tec folding carbine, a police trade-in S&W 59, a bunch of 10 and 12 rd mags for the P11, 17 and 30 rd mags that fit all three.
