Cheap handgun for the truck

Since your close to Bedford Co go to Shelbyville lumber co. they have a nice gun store inside called SLC Firearms, Tommy can order ya what ever you want.
I live in Bedford co.. Big Island is in Bedford Co. and I'm exactly 18 miles from downtown Bedford. However, Tennessee is a long state from east to west and the trip to Shelbyville is 7 hours and some change. Which is exactly the amount of time it takes me to get to Atlanta. So I could drive down there and get one from one of the dealers online here. Ones that still like me? 🤣
Probably better off going to Shelbyville now that I say that! 🤣. Actually Atlanta is 6 hours and some change so going down there would be better, cheaper and I know the way.

I found one. It's a broken in Taurus PT1911. I will raid the Wilson Combat parts and freshen it up with new recoil spring, mag well, and a few other parts. Also a handful of Wilson Combat mags. Look like the guy who had it last took care of it because there is oil seeping down from the slide. A Cabela's had it for 350 and 25 shipping. Now I know that some of you mock the PT1911. However they have forged frames, slides and hammer forged barrels. So the internals can be changed out and I can freshen the whole pistol up for probably right around $600 for handgun and parts and have a kick ass handgun in 45acp. Just to freshen it up a bit make sure it's good and reliable. I have owned at least four PT 1911s and all four that I had ran great. The only real complaint I have about those guns is the factory trigger. It's grotesquely heavy and sloppy from the factory. If the breaking in process didn't address that any I can dress it up a little bit and bring down that pull weight to probably 3.5 - 4 lbs. So I found my inexpensive truck gun.

Now for all you naysayers you probably don't know how to tune a 1911 much less take it down or clean it but the PT1911 is it good starting place to make a great shooting pistol. Depending on how the barrel looks I may order a new barrel and bushing. But I can take care of anything that needs to be done to a 1911. I've done it all before and particularly on the PT 1911's.

So on that note all you guys have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year! And I'm sure we will conversate again before and after. I'm warning you now so you know what's in store for you! 🤣
