anybody still use Mr Pawn? he used to charge $10 but i haven't used him in a long time.

He is $30 now. Those online FFL rates are very inaccurate. $5 transfers.

it's not gwinett, but classic city firearms is $5 in athens, and sporting arms in winterville is $10. I have used both and are good people to deal with.

It's completely up to you what you do, but I'd go to the closest place and pay the fee. Driving out of the way and wasting an hour (or more) of time doesn't seem economical when you factor in gas and your time. You'll get the lower sooner and can get your build started!
