I suspected that my gun was shooting a little low after seeing where the deer got hit this year on doe day. Took it to the range and it was about 1.25-inch low at 40 yards. Just a quick reminder to double check and make sure you are hitting where you aim.

Most of my shots are under 60 yards, so 40 zero is great for 7.62x39 round. I also noticed that the hot 8M3 HP ammo shot higher than the slower Hornady SST rounds I hunt with. Zero with your hunting round, especially if you use a 308.

My first 3 shots on cold barrel were side by side. I also waited for the suppressor to cool down before shooting the next batches. I was still lethal on POI, but head shots on does needed to be tightened up a little.

Going to the range Wednesday to site in my 6.5 prc and a Marlin 3030 for the hunting trip in Nov to GA. Can't wait. Get off this F*****g island for 3 weeks.:target:
Dang!! Life must be rough........ :becky: Course if I had an island home, I'd still need a place to retreat to

I took today off because I didn't get to the range with my black powder. I'll get out there tomorrow, so I'll probably go out hunting later in the afternoon.

I check mine several times during the season. It's more likely to lose its zero bouncing around in the truck and knocking against trees going to the deer stand than it is doing nothing in the safe between January and October.....
Having a good scope and mounts will eliminate that. At least I didn't have problems
