The generation sacrificed in ways we cannot fully appreciate. I have been watching WW2 in Color, and told my wife and daughter that we are sitting here comfortably as a direct result of the efforts of that Great Generation. Personal to me also, as my grandfather was one of Patton's 3rd army guys who, along with many other battles, survived the Battle of the Bulge.

Lots of sacrifice then, and from those all who have served before and after. Can you imagine how people would react to ration stamps today? And how about a draft? Everyone pitched in for the cause.

Too many people in this world don’t know or can’t appreciate this sacrifice. I’m thankful every day for every single person who has ever served for my freedom. A debt I could never repay.
