Thank you Sir. I paid $600 for it a few years ago. I had wanted a Pre Model 10, half moon front sight snub for a while. This one was in great shape, numbers matching grips and had the original gold box …so I paid up without batting an eye. Thought it was an OK deal then. Feel like it was a great deal these days.

Recently picked up my ideal spec .357 Mag, a 3" 686P w/ unfluted cylinder. It had a set of Altamont R2S Conversion grips that weren't proportional to the 3" barrel.

I swapped the Altamonts over to my 617 to replace the factory rubber setup. The R2S balance beautifully with the 6" barrel.

I have a new set of Altamonts en route for the 686P that will balance much better.
