Oh My! If you ever think about letting go of that pre 27,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I haven't seen many older S&W 4 and 5-screw nickel revolvers.
Here is a pre-27 3 1/2" dated to 2-11-55:

Here are two Model 27s (no dash w/ 4-screws) in nickel and lettered. The 3 1/2" is 3-14-1960 and the 5" is 11-22-1960.

You can see the 4th screw in the front of the trigger guard. The 4th screw was in the Model 27 and Model 27-1. S&W went to 3-screws with the first Model 27-2. And then some of those were still pinned and recessed (P&R) revolvers.
