Classic wheel gun porn....

Hey, while I cannot speak for XDfense, I can tell you why I have not had the recall done on either my M586 or my M581. They are both nickel models and the nickel is in very good condition. The value of a nickel Smith is based on the condition of the nickel finish. While I am sure that the craftsmen at S&W would respect my nickel models, I don't think they would protect the finish as well as I would. The recall, while necessary for those that carry the M586/581 as a duty weapon, is really not relevant to me. I think the possibility of someone scratching the finish on one of my nickel guns outweighs the good that can come from the recall. Just my opinion, and I am sure there are others who feel differently. BTW, I don't think you add value by having it done, or not having it done.

that is why mine has not had it yet.

IMG_8736.jpgmy only other revolver is a 1397 mosin m95

the only gas sealed (with correct ammo) revolver, its a quite gun to shoot top

I understand the concern about maintaining the finish. In my case, I have had one M686 done and a M586 at S&W now being done. While it is a remote possibility of a misfire, I just feel better having the modification done.

I don't blame you. If it makes you feel better, glad you had it done.

Thanks. I've seen you around the forums, but I just found out about this place. Liking it quite a bit. I've been very tempted to snag some of your Smiths. That recent 27-2 with a couple wear marks was very tempting.

That was a nice piece for sure....Im already missing it. It went to a good home though....probably for too little of money.;)
