I won't say I won't ever shop there again... it just won't be my first choice any longer... the more I go into these larger gun stores the more I'm becoming willing to pay a little more at my little local gun shop...

The appropriate action would have been to remove the "guard" dog, allow the customer and his service animal to continue shopping, then bring the other dog out when they left. Very poor choice of action on their part. My decision is to never grace their establishment with neither my presence, nor my money.

I normally don't by things there due to their prices being high. I do know they have at least one dobie, it was two before they moved. So I could see a possible issue with dog interaction. But, if that was the case the still have more than one room and could have easily fixed the issue without kicking anyone one. That being said I'm sure there is more to it then what was in the news, we all know they like to blame somebody.

This ^^^^ I haven't been in but once since they tried to give me 50 cents on the dollar for a rifle I was trying to trade about two years ago. You may cheat me once, but twice would be a fluke.

Thats about average........especially if you were comparing it to retail price and not wholesale price.

passed by numerous times but have never been in so I have no loyalties to the place. That being said, there's always more to every story. You need both sides and then the truth is usually somewhere in the middle.

I'm no lawyer (thankfully), but I think that it is discriminatory to disallow a bona fide disability animal from helping a disabled person utilize a public convenience or store.
Pls comment, all you lawyer types out there!!!

Not to play devil's advocate but, there have been issues with "legitimate" disability pets because the certification process, and proof of said process, and the huge gray area proving your pet is either being trained or is trained.

I only know this because when I was living in Alaska and going through a divorce I was trying to figure out how to get my dog there without paying insane fees or having to have her stored below in the storage area. There are a lot of people out there that will take advantage of that particular law to skirt rules in businesses and other such entities.

After getting that out there, what Clyde's did was totally illegal per everything I've ever read on the subject. They should also be ashamed of themselves for doing it.

So, rtross is correct.

It was on the news so it must be true. Unbelievable the reaction here really. First it was a "comfort" dog, not a seeing eye dog or the like. Big difference. Carry on believing everything you hear and read in the news. Amazing how fast the person that was asked to leave retained a lawyer.
