Simple economics says lower the price! More people will be interested

The prices are too high, I agree. They were priced really well in Round 1 a few years ago, but have shot up the last couple of rounds. However people still try to flip them for twice the price from the CMP at gun shows (and in ODT).
Honestly the prices they are asking for most Garands right now are not commensurate with the quality offered except in a few cases.

Rack Grade $1100. Pistol will exhibit rust, pitting, and wear on exterior surfaces and friction surfaces. Grips may be incomplete and exhibit cracks. Pistol requires minor work to return to issuable condition but is functional. Pistols may contain commercial parts.
If I were selling a pos like that. I would price it out at $500….needs work. But hey it’s official government and history! That makes it worth 2x!

I'm not dropping $1300 for what is basically a crap shoot as far as parts, wear etc.
I get the historical factor, but personally I'd rather spend a bit more and get a nice older commercial Colt.
I know the CMP is not set up to be a dealer of inexpensive guns, but they would do better to at least take a few exemplar pics of each condition.
