If you log in and go to make your picks this week, you'll notice the first matchup is (8) Michigan State (meaning they are currently ranked 8th in the nation) against Jacksonville State (unranked). The spread may change from day to day (they show the last 4 days or so) but for this game note it simply reads "off (0)". That 'might' mean it's a toss up but in this case it means they do not post a line because Jacksonville State is not an FBS team (or what was historically referred to as a D1 team). In reality it's a "gimmie" for Michigan State and that is who you should pick. Now they 'could' lose (and it does happen every year but the odds are strongly in favor of Mich St. There generally aren't many games like that each week and it's an easy pick.I have never bet on any sport, this sounds fun....You guys will have to explain the rules to me. I dont know what a "spread" is (except the one on my grandma's bed) or "I'll give you x amount of points"
In for $10
Now the more common version is the second game listed. 7th ranked UCLA vs Virginia. UCLA is the favorite by 21 points. So if you think UCLA will win by more than 21 points, pick them. If you think they will win by less than 21 points (or lose), pick Virginia. If they win by exactly 21 points, it's a 'push' and no points are awareded for that game.
Yeah I figured.Thanks, it's clear as mud now.....lol
Hopefully at least the above makes sense? That is the most common and normal scenario. You need to make your picks! Luckily, there's only been one game so far....JaysAK....in fo fife
