Yes, it was a hydro dip. I have a shop up in Blue Ridge where I do dipping and Cerakote work. Hydro dipping is very durable when done correctly. Additionally, we use Cerakote clear coat for most applications, which is some of the strongest clear in the industry. I won't tell you that you can't damage it, but usually to damage the dips we do someone has hit the gun hard enough to damage the surface underneath.
