Can anyone school me on this pistol? Any help would be appreciated.

I know the basics first American made double action , bad design, most modern gun smiths won't work on them.

The Colt Model 1877 is the Jekyll and Hyde of the Colt line. It was made in 3 calibers, .32, .38 and .41. They were also called the Rainmaker, the Lightning and the Thunderer. I personally have never seen a Model 1877 in 32 although they do exist. I have had a number of them including one that is in pieces on my desk. The action is fragile and prone to break. Finding parts can be difficult. Taking then apart and getting them put back together is even more difficult.
Having said all that, I think they are a neat gun(when working).
