Colt 1903 magazine conversion

I know this might sound little pointless but I’m thinking about designing a custom mag follower on colt 1908 to add slide stop after last round, Something like m1/m2 carbine mags. How do you guys think about it? Does it sound like mechanically possible?

What will hold the slide back after you remove the magazine with the modified follower?

Probably nothing, it will be just like m2 carbine mag. Once you pull out the mag, the slide will slide back. It’s simply for making sure the mag is empty during Self defense scenario.

I just wonder what kinda mechanical malfunction that could possibly cause with this modification, so I decided to ask from professionals on their opinions.

I don't foresee the likelihood of any mechanical malfunction. Make sure the bottom the breach face is sufficiently hard steel to not be damaged by the follower is all. It is possible that the round count might be reduced by creating a "bump up" in the follower though.
