Colt Detective special

I have inherited a Detective special .38 and wondered if anyone can give me a approximate value or tell me where to look. It is a 1970 mfg. with Pachmayr grips. No blemishes or marks and the gun is tight. I think it was shot very little by the way it looks.

History on the revolver?

I believe it was the same gun my father kept in his briefcase wrapped in a cloth. I don't think he fired it much at all by the way it looks.
I have looked for the original wood grips and box but have not found either one, but I did find a box of ammo that was bought then.
