Complaint Letter to Midway USA CEO

I have had an order with Brownells for G17 mags since last December. They gave me an option to cancel, but I am still waiting. Price was too good to pass.
I found 4-5 boxes of 22 that I almost forgot about, so I am all set.

I know TWO sources where you can order 22LR as low as .13 cents a round (shipping varies but with bulk purchase you end up paying less than .01 cent per round in shipping).

And your surprised why? I'm sure your the 10 millionth person who has called about 22 lr not being in stock, on back order, not shipped yet...etc. I wouldn't expect anything different when it comes to 22lr and any company trying to get it.

Patience was lost right about the time the customer service rep copped an attitude and made it seem I like should have known there'd be a delay and should have checked their web site daily.
Rudeness probably came into play right about the time she transferred me to the human resources recorded line rather than the supervisor I'd been placed on an extended hold to speak with.

There is a difference between not being able to help a situation and not being willing to do what you can to help a situation. Understanding that distinction might give you pause before assuming I was the one who was rude.
Now, back to our regularly scheduling programming.

Yes, you should have known there would be a delay! It's 22LR!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Seems the prevailing wisdom in this thread is to just accept any arbitrary promise, as long as you eventually get your 22lr.

OK. Send me your credit card info and I'll be happy to send you some 22lr at a non - specified date, but to make you feel better we'll call it Jan 31st.. Now, don't be calling about it if it doesn't come tomorrow or next week or six months from now. Just sleep better knowing you'll get it some day long after you forgot you ordered it.

You guys really give me a good laugh sometimes. You're willing to lie down and accept being lied to because it's an expected "market condition", yet get all sanctimonious when it comes to "flippers". Personally, I don't flip ammo. I buy it, shoot it and share it with friends. But I have no problem whatsoever with those who do. It's a market condition, supply/demand. If someone is asking .13 a round for 22LR I won't pay it, you won't pay it, but somewhere out there is a guy who has had his fill of waking up early every morning so he can hit three Wal-Marts and coming up empty. He's done the math and realizes he's spending more in gas than it's worth. And maybe he feels his time is worth a little something too. So he buys from a flipper. I don't see the problem here. It's no different than buying tickets from a scalper to a sold out concert. Get over it.

First off, you don't have to leave your CC info. All you have to do is uncheck the box.

Second, they didn't charge you anything. Nothing, zero. And they won't charge you till it ships, even if you do store your CC info.

And it saying "expected arrival date" is not a lie. Put on your big boy pants and except there are things that getting pissed over will change nothing.

Or you can fire off another email......... what was Larry Potterfields reply to the first one by the way.

ANGERNADE THREAD!!!!
I'm not sure I could have gotten better CS than I've gotten from Midway. I'm also sure if I was Mr. Potterfield and I read that letter it would go over like a pregnant pole vaulter right around the time I was called "Larry". But, he's probably a lot nicer than me.
You don't like the meaningless date, fair enough. But to expect any sanity within the .22lr market is simply not realistic. Keep your order open with them, or not if it's too aggravating, and enjoy the hit and mostly missing shopping like the rest of us. Hope you find some soon and you enjoy your new firearm.

Wow, this sounds real familiar. Was the backorder for Winchester 22lr? I too have it backordered but unlike you I received an e-mail from Midway letting me know the B.O. date had changed to June.
