Concealed carry guns for your girl.

Wife-mate carries a 642 LadySmith stoked with Plus-P's...My Sister, who's a "Recoil Wuss", carries an LCR with CT Laser Grips and Hornady standard-pressure .38's...I respectfully suggest your Daughter needs to GET OVER her aversion to REVOLVERS, 'cause sometimes, they ARE the right answer to the question!

I got my ex a Ruger LCR .357, however she only shot .38spl though it. I like the reliability of a revolver because if it doesn't go off the first time, just pull the trigger again. In a high stress situation that could save her life.

Just pulling the trigger is going to be plenty to focus on in a high stress life or death situation. I can't imagine fighting someone off and trying to rack a slide and then pull the trigger. I understand the concern.

My daughter's about 98 lbs soaking wet and carries a .25. I think that's probably too small for your wife to be comfortable with, but the slide racks so easy you can do it with your foot if you need to in a pinch.

She can shoot my 9 and .40 easily, but racking is a problem. So in this case it's like pizza, to quote a TV show. Any pizza is better than no pizza.

I'm glad she's wanting to carry... that's the first step.

I would suggest getting her to a professional trainer though. Hearing 'don't carry on an empty chamber' from a pro vs. Dad will make more of an impression. Same reason they say a husband should never try and 'teach' their wife... you have years of being ignored to overcome. Besides, if she ever does have to use it, a reputable trainer will testify in court on her training (if need be).

And don't forget the legal aspect of it. A good trainer should know and teach GA self defense law as part of a CCW class. If they don't, at least have her read Andrew Branca's "The Law of Self Defense" and the available GA supplement.
