As others have said, if your LGS has a SilencerShop kiosk, it’s a ridiculously easy process. Pick out your can (either on their show floor or online at silencershop’s website). Make a SilencerShop account, upload picture from your phone or computer, etc. Buy suppressor, then go to the LGS, use the kiosk for your fingerprints. Your LGS will complete the form 4 via SilencerShop, they’ll send to you via email to sign, confirm, and certify, and that’s the gist of it. Now is the time to buy. Wait times are silly fast. I just had a six day approval earlier this week.

I have several SC Banish series including 30 caliber, and 22 rimfire. I’ve been extremely happy.
Buying a suppressor is like buying a set of tires now. There are options that do one thing better than others, and others that do something else better. I'll say this: anything that is not titanium or threaded bravo pattern ( talking rifle cans) is very old technology. Not that it's bad, it's just dated. For a 30 cal can, look at AB Suppressors.
SilencerShop Kiosk makes it all simple. check the website for instructions.
for cans, the golden standard for 22lr cans is probably still the Dead Air Mask. the big thing with 22lr cans is make sure it is easy to clean since the 22lr ammunition is so dirty. You'll be cleaning it every 1k rounds or so depending upon ammo. I have a Mask and it's great. Probably will buy another in the near future.
For the 30 caliber can what are your hosts that you plan to shoot? 308 bolt gun? AR10 that you like to mag dump? Lots of options depending upon budget, host, and what you expect the can to do.
My first 30 caliber can was the Dead Air Nomad. Still a great suppressor. If you want lighter get the Ti version (Nomad XC Ti) or if you want quieter look at the "L version. It is HUB compatible (the threading on the end towards your rifle) so you can change mounting system easily. I use Keymo but it is heavier than some of the newer options (Rearden or Xeno would be the two I would recommend looking into).
If you are using the 30 caliber can on AR platform and already have rifles you don't want to modify, look into some of the newer low back pressure cans.

A lot of people don't want titanium. Ti is cool in certain situations (I have a few Ti cans), but Ti has limitations. Having a can made with steel alloys is certainly not old tech.
1. Ablative sparking. It's a thing. And if your goal is signature reduction, the ti cans work against you.
2. Steel and these super alloys (inconel, stellite, etc) handle extreme stresses much better than Ti and are more durable.
HUB (1.375x24) is probably the best terminology for those new to suppressors over "Bravo," which is SiCo's HUB compatible rear end.
I stopped in my LGS this morning. I was told approvals are happening very quickly - 3 months is the longest he's seen. Most are a week or so.
I have a Q Erector on my 22. Titanium so it's light and it's very quiet.

El Camino - Ti tube with SS baffles.
Erector - AL with 1 steel sacrificial baffle.
Unless Q has a new Erector out?
I just told you what I had and how I liked it. I'm sure there's way better but I don't know all the ins and outs of cans. Mine works as well as I need it to.
