Anyone out there ever sell copper? I stripped an investment property before it was destroyed. Anyone out there have experience with taking it in and getting money for it? Is it even worth it?

Most scrap yards now days require you to provide a valid ID and other info and some will pay you a day or 2 later.
Lots of Crack heads had been stealing copper and selling to salvage yards.

my buddy works in home reconstruction. he saves all the copper and a bunch of the other metal.

he lives close by but will wait till he has a bunch before taking it down there

the copper is well worth it. they just weigh it and give you the cash below melt of course

my advice. if you are gonna scrap it anyhow cut the pipes into 6 inch to foot long pieces to make them more manageable

never heard of the 2 days later thing

but yes, crackheads and meth addicts strip copper all the time

they also rip off folks catalytic converters. just greasy ****

Around here the recycling centers buy it- Newell Recycling, Scnitzer or however you spell it...

Mom had a new HVAC system put into her house... I put the old one in my truck and disassembled everything- sold it for scrap. Yeah- I'll never do that again. Worked 1/2 a Saturday on that damn thing and earned a whopping $45. Not to mention waiting in line with all the meth heads at the recycling center.

They also pay more if you bring it in cut up- for some reason a 12' stick is worth less than 12, 1ft pieces.
