Coweta County: Road rage suspect points gun at car, police let him go...

Didn't know you copy and pasted the same thing from PM to here or I'd have just responded here.

There we go.

@Patronus stop PMing me these photo's of yourself bro... It's creepy.

Why. Are you a LEO or of any other government agency.

Former,
Might be again someday. Why does that taint my response somehow?
Or are you one that believes that a 30 second snippet of a longer incident tells a complete story.
I'll give you a for instance: Say you enter a Quick Trip for a ice cold pink frappe. Why waiting to pay some idiot keeps bumping into you and threatening to kill you. You tell him repeatedly to leave you alone and not to bother you. Then you walk out to your car while leaving your frappe on the counter to avoid a confrontation, but the subject then approaches you car and says he will get his gun and kill you. You again tell him to leave you alone as you dial 911. Before you can complete your call the subject returns at a dead run straight at you. As you fumble for your keys you realize you have no choice but to pull your weapon and point it at the subject. He then turns tail and runs, but unknown to you, a concerned citizen has filmed the entire incident. You go home and as you are shakily changing your drawers when your friend calls and tell you to turn on the news. There you (and the rest of the world) see the last twenty seconds of the incident that appears to show you "brandishing a weapon" at the poor man just hurrying though the parking lot. And some washed out cop that has no understanding of rights or evidence is commenting that you had no right whatsoever to take the actions you took. You are now judged by people like this idiot claiming his own 15 minutes, even though he clearly states he has no idea what happened before the bike was captured on his camera.

Hmmmm.. I agree everything needs to be put in perspective. I would say that your example here is lacking. I like to stick to what I know.

1. Guy on SUPER SPORT BIKE, is in front of a car and with a flick of his wrist could put a mile between him and the car behind him.
2. He draws a gun and violates at least 2-3 of the 4 prime directives of safe firearms saftey.
3. By taking this action his bike slows bringing him closer to the people he's having a confrontation with while taking his eyes off the road ahead of him for seconds.
STUPID STUPID STUPID if his goal was to protect himself.

So your story should continue you get into you car and start it up and begin pulling out of the lot as you begin pulling out on to an open unobstructed road he runs at you. So instead of stomping on your gas you draw your gun, flagging people sitting at the bus stop, and slow down that's captured on video. As you continue to drive down the road looking backward hoping some car or kid doesn't pop out in front of you.

You completely miss the point. We don't know what happened, and only have this moment to judge. Using this snippet would only show one to be ignorant ,because one does not have enough information to form an informed opinion.

By the way any time you have to put your weapon into actual use you will violate at least one gun safety rule... Just sayin.

BTW that bike was a POS and not even close to a SUPER SPORT BIKE. And didn't look to have much power anyway.

Oh and by the way the witness sounded, I'm glad he is no longer LEO.

This. Sounds like one of those freedom hating cops that give most cops a really bad name.

Debate brandishing laws and the such all you want, but this guy had a reason for pointing his firearm, and LEO's who interviewed the guy didn't feel compelled enough to arrest him. Maybe you can say one cop is inept but multiple deputies responded and they were told by superiors to let the individual go. Sounds like Mr. Ex-Cop is upset that he's no longer a special snowflake and he's just a regular citizen like everyone else.

This is a classic example of when it's best to just drop the issue and both parties go their separate ways. But instead, Mr. Ex-Cop wants his 15 minutes to cry and whine about first-world white people problems. Meanwhile, in Russia:

See how nonchalantly all of that is? Guy wants in line, he waves his gun, gets in line, and everyone minds their business and goes on with their day. No calling the cops, no crying, no news coverage, just some dashcam footage on YouTube for the world to laugh at. That's how it should be.

SV650 vs a large displacement v6 or v8 sedan. I'm VERY willing to bet that car could have tailed that bike at top speed.
