​Trim rifle brass. It's a matter of time before something bad happens if you let you bottleneck cases get out of spec.
Slam, jam, boom!
I agree with not trimming pistol brass. Like mentioned above, weighing the charge, bullet, etc. isn't critical to precision pistol cartridges like it is with rifle. Pistol case runout is insignificant, & trimming is unnecessary.
