Dad needs help

Are you thinking what I think you're thinking? Car batteries?

No, I am thinking UPS. I have a crap ton of them in my warehouse, several that will run a server rack for a couple of hours. Don't know what kind of drain the cpap machine draws, but we might be able to run it off of a UPS for 7 hours. Of course, you will have to either disconnect the alarm, or live with a beeping sound every 10 seconds.

I can hook you up... Borrow my Duracell battery/inverter. I'm pretty sure it should work through the night. Only problem I can see is getting it to Maine if you are flying....

I have one of these. http://www.duracelldirect.com/portable-power.aspx?gclid=CLCTu7-81rkCFcdr7Aodl1cAuQ

God bless you for this trip with your father. I wish I could help but this is not my forte. Either way I am certain the rewards of your time will outweigh the obstacles. Enjoy this time, life is fleeting.

Some of the big ones won't turn on or auto shut off without a certain load on them.

hmmm. I didn't think about that. I know I have some little ones that can run my fridge for about 4 hours. I already tried daisy chaining them for longer life, THAT was pretty much disasterous.

Yea, depending on what kind they are (sine, square) they start interfering with each other. That might be an issue for the machine as well, depending on the electronics.
