When I sold the CRD Jeeps (back in 2005), we had a TON of service issues with them. Wonder how they improved it in 2014/15???
I love our 05. 126k. The timing belt was no fun to install. EGR was the only issue we had besides the transmission. Both were easy fixes. I'll be keeping ours forever.

Thats good. The ones I sold (all new) mostly had service issues. From wiring, to fuel problems.

They only sold them here in the US from 2005-2006. They tried putting the same torque converter as the gas engine in it if I am not mistaken and it simply couldn't handle the torque of the diesel engine. They updated it in 2006 and I have heard they are much more reliable.

Small diesel engines are the way to go. Lots of torque and awesome fuel economy. If any of you with the CRD are interested in getting them chip tuned for more power and efficiency, I have a buddy in Dallas who is a Malone Tuning rep http://www.malonetuning.com/jeep-crd. He tuned my TDI and it rocks.
