Daily Driver Porn!

Ok, FINALLY got to get out and drive it pretty hard today. The spring rates and valving on those coil overs are fantastic AND they are not obnoxiously stiff. Just a tiny amount of entry understeer but completely neutral after that. The s-drive tires are ok, but I would love to put a set of slicks on this car and hit a road coarse. This car is much more balanced and nimble than my old STI. The power is descent for what it is, but really shines in the tight twisties.

Lastly, the MiataRoadster shifter is wonderful. The 2-3 change on most Miata's is terrible. This shifter makes it very direct and very short. Although they are almost $400 fr the kit, well worth the money. Removes that wondering, lost shift feel.

sounds like a nice solid set up. yah i had started looking at the s drives but idk, i honestly like the federals i have now but they are wearing waaaaayyy too quick for my tastes. im really interested in that shifter, will have to do some more research. but god knows last thing i need is another thing to add onto my want list. I got to finish getting mine painted, add on my joes intake and up the boost a teeny amount. after that i can start looking at fun parts again. super excited i just picked up a used top on the frame to finally replace the one some asshole cut open on my 97 so that i can finally get that one moved and get some fun money back in the bank.

What color is that top? I have a hard top and thought about removing the the soft top all together and just putting a roll bar in, but it may be nice to have a descent soft top still.

I would also recommend the shifter first over power adders. It really is that nice.

its just another black one im just happy it was cheap as hell because i didnt want to have to spend alot fixing one to sell it. i actually picked it up off a guy that put on a hard top and took his out for weight and why not just still throw a roll bar in? and damn im really gonna have to look into it now. im just doing the power adders as it all came with the joes intake and i got that fairly cheap as well.

Weight is why I would take out the soft top I lieu of a roll bar. The hardtop and supercharger adds a good bit. I took it across our certified truck scale today. Weighed 2,520 with me in it. A roll bar would add even more.

ETA: I weigh 197, so the car is 2,323 with a full tank of methanol and 1/2 tank of fuel.

ah gotcha, and thats still not too bad, prob close to the weight of the 1.8 na's and prob still a little lighter than nb's. pretty sure my msm is sitting right around 2500 with what its got. i will say you dont really realize how much those soft tops weigh until your moving them around lol.

My 2002 B3000. I've had it since new, and it has been my DD 95% of the time. This year I added a locker, 33s on the back and 31s on the front. Did it to be able to reliably get to and from a cabin in Ellijay I purchased 3yrs ago.

Now toy cars and bikes I've always had for fun. My last toy car I've posted in here was an M3, but that was't toyish enough. So last month I went to buy one of those new Porsche GT3s. Pulled in to the dealer with my B3000, but they ignored me and didn't give me the time of day. Very rude and judgmental people. So I jumped in the B3000, went across the street and purchased a new GTR minutes later. At least they didn't judge a book by it's cover. FYI the new toy car I had planned to purchase for this year was between the a new ACR Viper, GTR or 2018 manual GT3.

But back to what my DD is... My sweet and sentimental 02 B3000 Dual Sport. I'll never get rid of this baby. :)
