Damn ****ty Bulldogs. Stinking up the place again.

Okay, I get that it's "sports" money, however...

how many physicians, midwives, nurses, etc could have been educated / trained with that $4 million dollars?

how many people could have received cancer treatment?

how many children could have had life changing surgery for congenital abnormalities?

how many children could have had dental / orthodontic treatment? To forever change their dentition for more than cosmetic reasons.

I'm not as concerned as to how he shared it with his offensive line as I am with how any (ANY) of that money could have been used.

Boosters that only care about their team? Useless idiots. (sure, a winning football team bring more students, and may bring more money to the school, but do you all know that the number one expense of "booster" organizations is their own salary? Coaching salaries are #2, and scholarships are #3 or #4!).

Y'all may be football fans, but if you dare to risk stepping outside your NCAA box, you may consider a greater good.
All great liberal talking points… we do still live in a free market economy, right? The kid has enough God given talent to make a lot of money. He’s (and the others) are playing with the hand they were dealt.

If you were given the opportunity to make millions or give it to the needy, I’m sure you would be of a different opinion. I don’t begrudge anyone for what they make, or give, or even turndown. If we’re talking about wasting money, we should probably continue in the political forum…

Go Dawgs!!!

Yes to free markets. My point is that the whole NIL was sold as "sponsorship" from private corporations, not the schools. UGA paid Beck $4 Million. Not a corporation like Nike.

I make a great living and give a crapload to organizations that make life better for more people than myself. That's a personal preference, and a God led one.

The overall point is that money, lots of money, is spent on "sports", while many of these same "donors" balk at paying a co-pay for health care.

Nope, hard conservative. But looking for the greater good for the many vs. the indulgence of the few. Did you like it when Pharma-boy jacked up the price of cancer treatment drugs? Do you like paying $2K / month just to have "insurance" for which you still pay a co-pay and deductible?

Football is a game. It brings in lots of money, and I have no problem with that. Again, look at the historic records. The biggest expense of school "boosters" is their own salary. #2 is coaches salaries. Scholarships for athletes is #3 or LOWER.

My issue is people who'll spend a mortgage payment going to see Taylor Swift or an SEC game, but scream to high heaven when they get a doctor's bill.

If you have to have surgery, do you want a surgeon who is highly skilled? Do you want your anesthesia to be given by someone who is highly skilled? Or would you rather a (college) sports star got $4 million and your surgery and anesthesia is being done by someone who had the bare minimum of training?

Open your minds. And if you're okay with Beck, the king of interceptions, getting $4 million, then don't ever say crap about your health care costs.

I love NCAA football. But life is way more than that.

rant over (for now)

Or at least prevent students from paying crazy health care policy premiums.
I’m not mad about your opinion and I agree the institutions have always taken advantage of the student athletes. With that being said, I don’t think anything that happens with their salaries one way or another will ever affect the insurance premiums, copayments, or anything else for the private sector.

It’s just entertainment for me anyway and I have no vested interests in it either way. Good on you for your charitable contributions too, I believe we should all help where we can those less fortunate.

God bless, brother.

Will they go down?
Not a number 2 team!
Be no championship this year more to come. This what happens when give guy 3 million last looked 1 poll had Ga at 11 another at 16. Worthless Beck can forget a heisman award and he be lucky make a 3rd draft pick . I see a lack of motivation with beck & team . Their play book sucks easy to read Smart going get Smart start cracking the whip. Don’t be surprised if TN gives them a spanking to.

I gotta ask, you got a kid in school paying crazy premiums (on top of tuition) ? You seem to hate Ins companies all most...all most as much as me.
But I understand them, copayments & deductibles, eob's and the bills that come.
Insurance runs the world, touches everything. Even the commercials during the game 🤬. It is the #1 racket, which is why the guberment wanted its cut with Obummercare.
You say hard conservative, I say ULTRA hard conservative. I know my costs to the penny, as a % of gross, or any other means of format, no where near $2k.
Health care is expensive, equipment is expensive, r&d is expensive, but its worth it when you need it.
School is the conglomerate over multiple degree ventures. If any venture fails to "pay its way", that program is terminated for something more lucrative. Sports is the mainstay moneymaker, football followed by basketball, but engineering, accounting, underwater basket weaving, all have their...fundraisers, started in Elementary.
I'm ok with Becks $4m, I know HIS parents are, wouldn't you if it where your child? We all send our kids to school hoping they will use it to succeed.
