Dash Cam

This:

Great camera, and great app so the footage is available as soon as you need it. Trust me it comes in handy if you’re involved in an accident and need to show the police.

They have some entry levels cameras and then some high end ones. This is the only camera system I buy.

I’ve been using this one for the last year, very easy to setup, really good video quality, and doesn’t get in the way.

As an additional use, I have one in each vehicle with a display screen (cheap Amazon - they've lasted a good while, but maybe not the best features), and drive with them displaying the rear camera. Works as a supplement to the mirrors. Not as clear (small screen, fisheye effect), but wider field of view. Depending on the vehicle, mounting can provide a good view of everything behind you.

After I was hit and run on last year I bought an Amazon "tiger" brand I believe. It has front and rear cameras. I did and still do have issues with mounting against the top of the back glass in a truck, plenty of wiring but the brackets supplied did not work so I just ended up with 3M tape but it lost adhesion this summer. I wired mine to the battery for the full time recording or sleep mode options. For the most part it is plug and play, for sure if using the cig adapter. Installation is not bad just a matter of tucking and securing the wiring being interior panels. Beware of side curtain air bags clearance when routing the wiring.
Trying to get my phones camera to snap a picture or at least record the suspects and tag number while trying to dial 911 is when dude fled, dash cam would have had all the info. I had 250 deductible and ****ty service from my insurance. A few things to consider while shopping prices and features.

I just want the easiest one to set up and use and that is compatible with iOS lol. Like when it records the video I want to be able instantly access it in the app without going through 37 hoops to view it.

I need 3 and not necessarily the easiest to use but the best to protect my family. I'd really like to fine the best front, rear, and passenger compartment. If anyone has personal experience, please let me know. I'm not interested in Google or any other search ideas.

My experience is mainly limited to commercial applications and vendors. There are so many more options for general public, I barely know where to start for recommendations.

I've got amazon Red Tiger brand cams in all my vehicles, but I've also not tried to look at any of the footage on my phone as of yet. Haven't had a need to and haven't been curious enough to fool with it. I probably should at some point. Heard good things about Garmin, Rove, Nexar and there was another one I forget the name of right now.

I doubt any of them are all that bad, kinda just depends on what features you want it to have and how much you want to spend on it.
