All you ODT'ers with kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews - if you are doing some light wrenching teach em how to do brakes, alternators, water pumps, starters, batteries. Unfortunately many youngsters these days barely know how to drive, much less basics of maintenance and repairs. If its a stick shift forget it - might as well be an alien spacecraft to most of them. Let em get some grease on their hands and understand enough basic maintenance to be able to question "the shop", at least to understand precisely what they are talking about when that high quote comes in. For that particular car the Amazon link above contained all pads, shoes, rotors and drums for a full brake job. I think it was $150ish. I had the local Sears store in Athens before they went under try to charge my wife and daughter $1000 to install a water pump on a Suburban. New pump was $40. Fortunately I had not only taught my daughter how to install a water pump - I had actually taught her years earlier on that SAME vehicle so when they gave a $1000 quote she just laughed at them mockingly and left.
