Diesel exhaust fluid

About a year or so ago they started going after mechanics doing the delete and tunes pretty hard with outrageous fines. Not that anyone was doing that on semi's anyway. It amazes me how much we have to pay for piss water even without a shortage. Or that def is a thing in the first place. It just doesn't pass the logic sniff test. I know...gov and liberals and logic. However, the system decreases my mpg about 4-5 mpg. You can't tell me that using that much less fuel for the same mileage isn't a net gain over a def system and more fuel. Just no way. You want to champion the environment allow my truck to run as efficiently as possible.

It’s definitely waaaayyyyyy better for the environment and I always recycle the thick cardboard box and 2.5g plastic jug it comes in. (sarcastic)

Yeah DEF is real and it’s for emissions. DEF is a catalyst used in after treatment in Diesel engines some are total def treatment and some run the exhaust through a particulate filter in the exhaust along with the DEF.

It’s this bull**** plumbed into the exhaust.

Juan Deere use particulate filter and DEF so DEF tank is smaller. Case/blue Holland use total scr systems meaning they only treat exhaust with DEF to reduce emissions which translates to a bunch of DEF burned after the engine has worked that day.
