Do NOT buy USPS money orders!

Don't get the insurance on packages from USPS, I had 1000's of dollars of military equipment stolen in the mail, and they didn't pay a penny for my stuff. I even call a friend who worked for 11 alive, and they did a 6 pm story, about 6 of the boxes that I sent USPS, from my duty station to home, and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM were broken into, and re-taped, by USPS, with USPS labeled tape, and refused to pay the insurance, because " Unable to determine what packing materials were used to ship items. " So, yeah... don't worry they'll never pay for anything, because it's never their fault.

I guess the only thing you can do (in future) is convince the sailor that if they'll only accept USPS MOs the ONLY way you'll mail one is by Registered First Class Mail. It takes about two weeks to 20 days to get wherever but you'll always know where the letter is because it has to be signed for every time it changes hands.

I’ve had the exact same problems with U.S border and customs, thank god nothing has been stolen and when I inquired why my stuff keeps getting seized and opened which (took months to finally get a answer by the way), they said because my packages come from a “ high risk area”. It’s stuff from my family far East haha, Customs and border Answers to nobody I’ve discovered.

I sent one certified requiring a signature a few months ago and they lost that one too. Only after opening a case and escalating it did I get results. Somehow miraculously they managed to find that one same day. And even though it was over a week late it STILL hadn't made it to Illinois at that time.
Last week I saw a Google headline that claimed GA has the worst Postal Service of all 50 states. And I believe it.
But are we really being dragged down by the one south Atlanta distribution center? It's just hard to believe that one monkey stops the entire show.

Lots of monkeys working at USPS, it ain't rocket surgery. Registered First Class Mail does not get lost because if it does? The last monkey that signed for it can lose their job.

Bought USPS money order on May 17th and mailed it to NH to pay for a GunBroker item. Fast forward to today. It still hasn't showed up. I already paid for the item with Venmo. I checked it one last time today and it shows "Sold but not cashed".
Okay the rules (heavily in THEIR favor) state that you have to wait 60 days for a refund. AND...at the 90 day mark it's null and void and no good to anyone. The affirmative action bitches at the Perry Post Office gave me an 800 number last week that went nowhere and you can't talk to a real human no matter what. So today I go back one more time since it's well past the 60 day point. They refused to refund it or issue a new money order that I could deposit at my bank. Then...they told me to "Open and Inquiry". Okay let's do that. Then after treating me like I'm a scammer and copying my license they want ME to pay THEM ANOTHER ****in $20.15 for them to do the enquiry! And then I would have to wait for THEM to MAIL me my refund which they have already proven they can't be trusted to do.
I have bought and mailed lots of USPS money orders over the recent years. And I bought them because it's the gubment, right? So there's gotta be a certain level of security involved, right? Well obviously not. So if you're still not tech oriented like me or you don't want third party payment apps in your bidness and still buy/use money orders just save yourself time and aggravation and get them at Walmart or friggin Circle K.

By pass the workers...go up there and see THE POSTMASTER....the employees who may or may not even know what they are talking about will run you in circles until your 90 days runs out and then say ...oh well you let your 90 days lapse so we can't help you.
If the Postmaster doesn't help , contact your US Representative or Senator's office and file an official complaint and request they help you get your refund as your money order has obviously been LOST thru negligence or STOLEN..
