the age to carry a firearm should be 18, i feel that if you'll let someone smoke, vote,join the military, drive and marry without parental approval then you should be able to carry a gun as well. i would be against forced weapons training classes but a basic pistol course is useful to understand the basic safety and function of firearms

i would say 16 but sadly the youth (for the most part) nowadays isn't the brightest bulb in the box
