Mine covers $180k in personal property.......but only $2,500 in firearms and related accessories.
Are you saying you got an additional rider for more coverage for only $5-10/month? How much more coverage if you don't mind me asking. Been meaning to do that myself.
Took a look at that NRA policy too. Anyone here actually have it? Frankly, I'd feel more secure against loss with enough insurance than with any safe.
When my Dad passed in 1998 one of the first things I did after moving all his stuff down from Tn. was go safe shopping. I didn't see any point in buying a 600-700 lb safe to put our valuables in since I know I've moved 900 lb rolls of coated fabrics with a good set of hand trucks without breaking a sweat and I'm only 5'8" 160 lbs. I went ahead and spent a little more and got a Ft. Knox Titan, just the door on this thing weighs about 700 lbs. That's as much or more than whole safes that a lot of folks have. It has a fire rating of 1680° for 90 minutes and weighs almost 1900 lbs. empty. I got the salesman to throw in a document safe to go inside to protect our important papers and my wife's jewelry and stuff like that. I actually got a pretty good deal on the safe because someone else special ordered it in forest green (not my color of choice) and then backed out on the purchase. I don't trust those electronic locks so I was glad it had the traditional spinning dial lock on it, might take a few seconds longer to open but that's not really a concern since I'm always armed anyway. There was no way in hell I was gonna store a Wilson Combat .45 & Colt Python in a $500, 600 lb safe. My only regret is not buying a bigger safe, if I do get another safe it'll definitely be another Ft. Knox safe.
