Do you have a gun in the house? #$&^$%

I have three grand daughters...they are in, and out of my house at any time....I have guns, and they, from time to time, are out, when they are around...NEVER have they even looked at them, or tried to touch one. They were trained early, and know what they are, and what they can do.....it has NEVER been an issue...I may be the lucky one, however I doubt it...children trained, are far better off than those that are not
I grew up the same way, most of my relatives had guns out and accessible - and always loaded. When toddlers were around, the guns were put up high but not put away. What good does it do to have a gun if you can't access it?

This to a tee. My grand daughter used to live with us. Her mother would get all uppity about me having guns. I showed one of my guns to my grand daughter while her mother watched. I asked her what it was, she said it is a gun grand paw. I asked what happens if you see it laying around the house? She said: I leave it alone. I asked what happens if you pick it up or touch it? She said I get my butt beat. Momma shut up after that. The child was not quite 3 at the time.

Similar to how I raised my 2 kids with firearms in the house. I never worried about them, however there were children that were not mine in our house daily. I kept my guns and ammo secured with the exception of my daily carry that stayed on me.

That's exactly how my mom was before she drilled gun safety into brain. In fact every homeowner with kids taught their kids the same way. If a buddy over to spend the night and they didn't have guns in their house they would try to talk me into picking it up..my response was " You pick the thing up! I ain't taking a beating over that. It's very dangerous so the beating is 3 times worse! If you pick it up she will beat your ass as well! Go ahead and tempt her and see what happens. ". I said all that grinning like a jack ass eating stickers. LOL
