Do you still believe in charity?

Does anyone else on here feel like money the recently sent to help a family in need went to buy someone an xbox? That's how I am feeling right now. Anyone else?

I have my questions where the money goes but until you do just sleep better knowing that your trying to help and if you find out different then stop funding.

I've been burned before. Doesn't change the motivation or the intent. If they do wrong with it, it's on them not me. Having said that, I don't get burned twice.

Someone was also collecting donations for a vfw in calhoun. Should be pretty easy to find out about that one.

Since the State hasnt seen it fit to give its employees a raise in the past 6 years or so I have stopped my charity contributions. But if someone needs a few bucks to feed their family I will let them hold it if it doesnt keep food out of my kids mouth. I believe that if someone went and bought an xbox with money I gave them to feed their family with thatd be the last time they would see any cash from me.

I don't give money to charity mainly because there is a lot of them where little to none of your donation actually goes towards the cause...

I have given to Vietnam Vets assoc for last 20 years. I will also donate to fire departments for burn units.We help Paulding county with change drive at my wifes school called pennies for Paulding.She has also started a coat drive there many years ago at Christmas.Thats about it unless I run into someone that might be in need unexpectedly

I look at it as I do when I GIVE money to a friend.... I do not borrow it to a friend... so then I do not get pissed on how they spend it or whether or not they pay me back.... If I am not happy with how my donation is spent, I will not donate in the future....

If you pay income tax then you already give to charity (among other things)
