I have used the Venom RDS, good stuff.

Have owned and used vortex strike eagle, strikefire 2, sparc 2 and sparc ar. All worked well for me.

I like all of my Vortex scopes, but I also like my Leupolds, Nikons, and Zeiss. Only scope I ever had to send back was a Nikon, but it can happen with any of them. Tell your cousin to buy as much scope as he can afford. When it comes to low light conditions and accuracy, he will not regret it.

Vortex Viper HS 2.5x10x44 on one of my hunting 7.62x39 ARs and a Hoghunter 3x12x56 on my LR308. 56mm looks like a soup can and really pulls in the light. However, the Viper has much better glass if you want to spend the money.

I have 5 or 6 vortex scopes...i like NF and **** better...but the PST line is pretty good for the cash. also have a crossfire on a 22lr rifle. i dropped a 12lb rifle on a PST and bent the objective bell to the barrel...back to Vortex, had a new one in 4 days.

I had a Viper on a 308 and still have a 2-7x32 scout scope on my 30/30. Both did their part if I did mine. Zero complaints here.
