OP, do you really want to save it? If you do, you need to do something serious now. Talk is cheap and after 15 years of you treating her like crap why should she believe your words.

Get off of ALL the forums you belong to and dedicate the time you would have spent there to your family. Sell ALL of your outdoor equipment and dedicate that money to your family. Because you have sold all your equipment you will be able to dedicate the time you would have spent outdoors to your family. You have 15 years of time to make up. Get started now or never do it at all.

Maybe, someday when you have regained her trust and found some perspective, you can go play in the woods again in an appropriate manner.

But do you really believe it will work? I mean, I will not say it isn't worth a shot if he really wants to save the marriage and keep his family intact but I don't know...She sounds pretty angry and fed up to me. After 15 years of being ignored, she finally said "there has to be more to life than this...Why the hell am I still here? What's in it for me?"...According to his own words, he's a selfish prick. (I added the prick part for dynamics) He has a lot of making up, sucking up, kissing up to do, and I'm of the mind this woman will respect him even less for it. It shouldn't have taken her leaving to wake his ass up. I'll bet she kicks herself for taking it so long, especially after seeing his reaction to her finally showing some independence...I've seen this crap a thousand times. One person takes the other for granted for too long and then one day boom...The one who has been mistreated wakes up, says to hell with this, stops giving a ****, and everything flip flops...The roles reverse and the one who took the other for granted for years goes crazy insane because of their own guilt. And kids or no kids there are some women who reach a point where they make up their minds and when that point is reached, bye.

I'm finding it hard to understand why he would unload this baggage here of all places...I mean, according to him this place is a part of the problem.
