I was staying off of Tyvola (South Charlotte) by the jobsite. there were three or four new hotels in the same basic parking lot. I am heading back to Charlotte this afternoon for a meeting tomorrow, I will NOT be staying IN Charlotte - screw that entire area!
Maybe spring break up there, the kids were bored..

Charlotte is getting worse by the year, (like most cities) I took my wife to an event there a few years back and we stayed downtown by the NASCAR museum… there was a “wedding party on our floor- yes the whole thing. Smoking, drinking, beating each other, you know the normal things you do after wedding your cousin… the second round of beating on our door was all it took and we decided to leave. As we’re collecting our things, there’s a full on shootout on the parking deck outside our window. No refund, no cops, no problem, we made it out without me having to add a few funerals to their wedding.

Sorry to hear about that, that kind of stuff worries the crap out of me. How can you protect the guns left in your vehicle? I can't lug all my stuff back and forth. My truck AR and shotgun are cable locked to the seats to prevent snatch and grab but these guys would of had them both.

Sorry to hear this sir. After years of working hotels I can tell you;
- Never leave anything in the car while parked/overnight
- Never put your luggage in the car when checking out and go back in to the hotel,
- Never let the wife leave the shopping items from the day in the car,
What brand / model of truck “safe” was this? Looks like they broke in without much fuss. Shameful that something sold as a security device only looks to slightly inconvenience the thieves…
Even more shameful are the thieves themselves, but that’s another issue.
