I might keep my eyes open at thrift stores for a cheap safe to put in my center console. ButI don't actually want to keep a gun in there overnight. I think I would just fill it up with concrete, and a couple of lag bolts.

That way if any thief wants to break into it they can spend a lot of time and make a lot of noise trying....

I had an instructor when I was in school for EMS. Her apartment was broken into They stole her liquor and a few other items. She bought some cheap liquour, dosed it liberally with ipecac. Sure enough they came back for more. She didn't get a follow-up but the results must have been beautiful.
