Sorry this happened to you. When I am in NC, I wonder about the laws they have that give a posted "no firearms" sign legal weight. It seems like there could be a higher likelihood that vehicles parked in hotels would have firearms inside because of it. I spent so many nights in hotels in NC for work, mostly Fayetteville, and it really started to drive me nuts how dicey it seemed sometimes, especially coming and going in the wee hours. Thankfully, I don't have to spend much time in hotels anymore.
