Double!

Encouraged me to go out on the deck and check my feeder.
I got doubles bedding right behind one of my feeders, about 35 yards from my back door.

Congrats

Took this guy tonight.
Super windy, heard him running to my left and got real quiet.
I ended up turning to the right since I figured if it was a buck it would want to be downwind entering the knoll.
Sure enough he showed up on my right super slinky like….winded me right off but wasn’t sure…..thank you nose jammer.
And was acting real spooky but minding that large deadfall root ball.
Finally after a half hour of disappearing and reappearing in other spots he broke out on a path 50 yards from me.
I aimed high and watched my lighted nock drop hard the last 10 feet of the shot and watched it go under him.
I was pissed, was like “I went right under him dammit.”
He ran down the hill and I heard one thud then silence.
I figured he crossed the well worn creek trail which is why he didnt make any more noise.

I gave it a half hour and was dying to check it out.
Found my arrow, was praying for dark red blood but just found watery blood , almost like gut shot juice…..my stomach did a flip
Flop.
I didn’t hear him run off so I figured he was already long gone.
To my surprise I didn’t get 10 yards and saw him piled up down the steep slope 20 yards from the arrow.
Elation would be an understatement.
From what I gathered he turned took three steps and leaped and was dead before he hit the ground.

Went in right side, exited higher on left side.

Dude at the processor asked me if if I shot it with a 300 win mag…..lol.

He was pretty hefty, bigger than the 8 I shot on the first day of archery.

Congratulations! That’s a good buck. Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good!
