I only OC if I'm running out real quick and throw on a paddle holster, I'm usually dressed in a way that gets funny looks when they see the gun, after being pestered by other people about it I got tired of the hassle. Now the funny looks I get when I'm in my EMT uniform and OC my Glock is priceless

Dress code for open carry

I do not have a problem at all with open carry. I pocket carry or use IWB. I have carried my LCR IWB but not covered. I have belt carried but find having a gun on my belt gets in the way.
If you are strapping on a Desert Eagle In a drop thigh rig with 4 double mag pouches. I suggest that you are not carrying because you want the ability to defend yourself but that you want to be badass. We don't need badasses. Open carry can and should be discrete.
I also am not advocating getting dressed up to carry. Your actions not your wardrobe will be what makes an impression.
I do think if you are going to open carry you should be ready to respond to anyone in a courteous , intelligent and respectful manner. My response to "Why are you carrying a gun?" is "I carry a gun in case I have to defend my life or the life of others.".

I dont care to open carry. Pain in the azz. Being stopped and hassled is just not worth it. Plus they know who to shoot first if they see you.... the element of surprise is gone.
I used to OC in a paddle holster, but then I saw the following video. I now only OC in a few pairs of carpenter's jeans I have convent "screwdriver" pockets on the thigh.

I've seen that video, the paddle holster i use is a SERPA cqc and I find it slot better built than something like an uncle mikes or fobus. I'm not saying it's not possible but I've jerked on it pretty good without it budging
I got one in the vest pocket of my leather and another in the right hand zippered pocket.Ain't got no dress up clothes.
