Dress code for open carry

Slightly off topic but I never understood Small of back carry when open carrying. Even my pawnshop manager buddy and most employees of his all carry SOB. They constantly are preoccupied in a small crowded shop and it's like a free gun for anyone that wants to snatch it.

Hey, I SOB IWB. Sits goooooood between the "backstraps"

I'm a biscuit and gravy eatin' boy and I learned a long time ago that if yer gonna be big you better at least look neat and clean or people are just naturally going to assume you smell bad too. So, I tend to wear nice jeans(as in no holes or acid wash) and either a polo shirt or a decent button up. I don't tuck in cause on a big boy that just makes it more obvious. Ya still gotta back off a step or two to see the belt buckle any way. Now this attire makes CC more of a natural, which is great cause CC is my druthers anyway. Also, as a vertically challenged individual I know I'm not the perfect spokes model for Amendment 2 and while I have no intention of being an ambassador for the cause, neither do I want to be a cautionary tale for liberal gun haters

As for how YOU carry...whatever makes ya happy. In fact I wish I knew that EVERYONE else who carried OC'd then I'd know for sure who was carrying. I saw a couple of young guys at the gun shop the other day OCing and it kinda made me feel good. Course they looked like a couple of GI's on leave even though they were in civvies. Guess I'm getting old, it made me feel a bit proud of them.

There are just too many factors to consider to make a judgement for all to adhere to. What clothes, your build, the threat level you are going to be in, climate..etc, etc. OH! lets not forget what caliber and platform you want to be carrying. You can stick a .380 in a lot of places a .45 wouldn't be too comfortable.

Personally, I don't see why any of US would need to dump on anyone elses choice of carry. The only thing any of us should be concerned with is that we ALL act responsibly and with wisdom when and if the time comes to draw that weapon from WHEREVER you carry it.

I dont ever put slacks or dress for an interview while carrying, however, I dont want to go around looking like Joe Dirt. Most of the time I OC it's when I have a T-Shirt and Jeans on. Sometime I do choose to CC because of my appearance. For example, I wear old BDUs and white Ts around the house. I also have a very fast growing rate for my facial hairs. So I normally conceal if I need to run into Wal-Mart.

Bum looking guys with guns and WalMart employees dont mix.

As for if I care what people think of me when carrying in general.... You can sometimes catch me OCing with a thigh holster now that its cold. I also live in a populated apartment complex and when I need to walk the dog I carry what ever gun is closest to me. So you may even catch me with my AR15 slung across mt chest while the dog takes a leak,

In CT?
