Driving in the rain without lights on citation.

I'm pretty sure this is considered a non-moving violation that will not affect your insurance or add any points to your driving record.

Reviewing it, even though I think he wrote down the wrong code (hard to read on my copy) it's a $100 and 3 points. Which in my opinion is ridiculous given that they have texting and driving w/o a seat belt as 1 point and $20 fines, even though there is a huge national campaign to stop them.

Ga Tech officers are just like any other LEOs. They are primarily responsible for the campus but have jurisdiction anywhere. There are lots of different departments in the area with the same status like GSU, GWCC, Federal Protection...

I'm glad my car has running lights...they are always on. But when it is raining I do turn on the headlights so that others can see my car better.

Hypothetically? I would begin by rescheduling the court date until it fits a time most convenient for me. This may conflict with the officers availability to show up in court. I the past , and I would also mention in another state, this worked well for me. No cop in court = no judgement. Not sure if GA is the same. Then I would subpoena his record, video and audio, any and all reports that he wrote, etc. It not that hard and if you have an otherwise clean record then why not. Watch this and other Youtube videos to prepare for the court room: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wXkI4t7nuc Get serious about using the internet's resources to look for some real advice and instruction on GA laws and traffic courts. You can learn so much even if you pay the ticket.http://www.flexyourrights.org/

sadly this isn't always the case in every county in Ga. i know here in clarke county, if the cop doesn't show up, they reschedule it for a day when he's free
