So a guy emails me and offers me $250 for my $350 shotgun I have listed on that other site. He says "Well you should knock that much off since I have to drive to you".

I come back with "OK no problem. I'll deliver it to you for $450".

Had that happen to me a few years ago with a motocycle. Guy came to my house checked it out and said what will you take?
I replied same thing I told you on the phone..he says there's one in Conyers thats 800.00 lower...I said to him, well you should be in Conyers, he says well the guy already sold it, so I reply, then there really isn't one in Conyers huh the price is xxxx. He didn't know what to say, he just got in his truck and left

That 50 IQ with some of these people is great isn't it.

That happened to me on a job interview once. On the phone, they never told me the salary... got me in for a face to face, then WHAM, low-balled me. The interview didn't last much longer.

The reason lowball offers are popular is that sometimes they work. I offered $10000 for an f350 several years ago, was told no way trucks worth 16500 which I expected. Two counters later I drove off at 10700. He's happy, I'm happier.

What's worse is when you arrive at a price, show up at the meet and they say "I only have XXX with me (less than agreed on)". Happened to me once...
